Auburn Latest News: Another four star wide reciever may no longer play for Auburn Tigers

Jonah Winston could be on track to follow in his older brother’s footsteps and play football at Florida State. Jameis Winston, one of the greatest quarterbacks in the school’s history, led the Seminoles to a National Championship and later pursued an NFL career. Though Jameis is now known for his leadership and clutch performances, his younger brother is forging his own path in the sport.

Unlike Jameis, Jonah Winston plays as a wide receiver and is currently navigating the recruiting process. He has drawn interest from multiple programs, including Florida State. His top schools include UCF, Ole Miss, Auburn, and Florida State, all of which have extended scholarship offers. He has also received offers from Alabama, Colorado, Marshall, Mississippi State, Texas A&M, and Troy.

Ranked as a three-star recruit by 247Sports, Jonah is the No. 43 wide receiver in the Class of 2026 and the No. 13 player in Alabama. He visited Tallahassee in October 2024 and has upcoming trips planned to Auburn and Florida State. Originally a quarterback like his brother, Jonah transitioned to wide receiver last season, significantly boosting his recruitment profile. In 2024, he led his team with 38 receptions for 542 yards and three touchdowns, while also contributing in the running game with 152 yards and five touchdowns on 21 carries.

As he considers his options, Florida State and Auburn appear to be the frontrunners in the race to land the younger brother of a former National Champion.
