Breaking: Steelers Poised to Snag Record-Breaking 81-TD Quarterback in Shocking Move.

The Pittsburgh Steelers remain in search of a long-term solution at quarterback. While they have been frequently linked to Aaron Rodgers, no definitive future plan is in place. Even if Pittsburgh acquires Rodgers, his tenure would likely be brief, lasting only a year or two. Therefore, the franchise must also focus on securing a quarterback who can lead the team for years to come.

With the 2025 NFL Draft approaching in just over a month, several potential candidates could be on Pittsburgh’s radar. A new projection suggests that the Steelers may find their future franchise quarterback in this draft. Ian Valentino of A to Z Sports predicts that Pittsburgh will select Ole Miss standout Jaxson Dart with the 21st overall pick.

Valentino explained his reasoning, stating, “While bringing Justin Fields back after a promising 2024 season is an option for Pittsburgh, relying solely on one quarterback isn’t enough. Jaxson Dart has solidified himself as the third-best quarterback in the class due to his accuracy, confidence, experience, and athleticism. Though he may not have an elite ceiling, he possesses the consistency and skill set to develop into a borderline Pro Bowl player—potentially enough to help the Steelers contend for a Super Bowl.”

Dart’s draft stock has varied, with projections placing him as high as the No. 7 overall pick. There is a possibility that he may not be available when Pittsburgh makes its selection. During the 2024 college football season at Ole Miss, Dart demonstrated impressive efficiency, completing 69.3% of his passes for 4,279 yards, 29 touchdowns, and just six interceptions. He also contributed on the ground, rushing for 495 yards and three additional touchdowns.

NFL.com analyst Lance Zierlein has drawn an intriguing comparison for Dart, suggesting that his playing style resembles that of Gardner Minshew. If Dart lives up to these expectations, he could provide Pittsburgh with the consistency and reliability they need at the quarterback position for the foreseeable future.
