BREAKING: Hookies to Loose Another 6 of its Fans most experienced Top Star players in Day Two NFL Draft to Their Rivals..

On Thursday, April 24, the first round of the NFL Draft took place, with 32 players selected, none of whom were former Virginia Tech Hokies. However, Day 2, which will feature rounds two and three, is expected to see Hokies start to be drafted. Six Virginia Tech players are among the top available prospects, with wide receiver Jaylin Lane being the highest ranked at number 41.

Lane, who had an impressive performance at the NFL Combine, is expected to be selected in rounds two or three. The Clover, South Carolina native showcased his speed and agility, ranking among the top three receivers in the 10-yard split (1.5 seconds), 40-yard dash (4.34 seconds), 20-yard shuttle (4.12 seconds), and the three-cone drill (6.75 seconds). He also demonstrated exceptional vertical jump, recording a broad jump of 11 feet and a vertical leap of 40 inches. During his time at Virginia Tech, Lane led the team with 38 receptions for 466 yards. Despite not having a standout final season, his Combine performance has made him a top prospect. Teams such as the LA Rams, with the 90th pick, and the Kansas City Chiefs, holding picks at 63, 66, and 95, are potential destinations for Lane in the third round.

Another Hokie player on the best available list is running back Bhayshul Tuten. Tuten made a significant impact during his final season at Virginia Tech and also impressed at the NFL Combine, where he recorded the fastest 40-yard dash time for a running back at 4.32 seconds. Though Tuten is an explosive player, he has had some inconsistencies in his game. He was a key player for the Hokies and is expected to be selected in the third round.

Cornerback Strong performed well at the Combine, ranking 26th among cornerbacks with a production score of 62 and an athleticism score of 59. He posted a 4.5-second 40-yard dash, a 1.55-second 10-yard split, a 9-foot-8-inch broad jump, and a 36-inch vertical jump. Strong’s strengths lie in his instincts and route anticipation, as well as his ability to tackle low and take out runners’ legs. However, his hesitation on runs and occasional issues with turning and changing direction may cause him to be drafted later, possibly in the fourth round. Strong could, however, be a late third-round pick.

Other notable Hokies, such as Antwaun Powell Ryland, Aeneas Peebles, and Da’Quan Felton, are also among the best available players, but they are expected to be drafted on Day 3 of the draft.
