The Las Vegas Raiders concluded their 2025 NFL Draft with a promising class that brings a mix of high-upside talent and a few questionable picks. While not every selection was a home run, the team addressed key needs and added depth across several positions. As the offseason progresses, fans are beginning to speculate how many of these rookies will make the initial 53-man roster, though it’s still too early to know for sure.
At quarterback, the Raiders made an interesting move by drafting two FCS QBs. Tommy Mellott is expected to switch positions and play wide receiver, while North Dakota State’s Miller is a hidden gem with considerable upside. The running back position appears to be solidified with Ashton Jeanty, a top college performer, stepping in as the new starter. Backups like Charles Grant and Caleb Rogers—both rookies—may challenge for starting roles as the season goes on. On defense, the line is a strength. Maxx Crosby, Christian Wilkins, Adam Butler, and Malcolm Koonce start, with high-potential backups like Tyree Wilson and rookies Tonka Hemingway and JJ Pegues.
At linebacker, Elandon Roberts and rookie Tommy Eichenberg are expected starters. Veteran Devin White, who has struggled in coverage, is projected to come off the bench. The Raiders appear to prefer Eichenberg’s reliability despite his own limitations. In the secondary, Jakorian Bennett, Decamerion Richardson, and Darnay Holmes headline the corners. Rookie Mello Dotson could surprisingly make the roster over more experienced options. At safety, Jeremy Chinn and Isaiah Pola-Mao are the likely starters, while Lonnie Johnson and special teams standout Harper Thomas fill in behind them.
Overall, the Raiders’ draft class adds youth, versatility, and potential impact players who could shape the team’s 2025 season and beyond.
