Luton Town’s star player reveals his return from a long-term injury.

The club star will return to Luton Town’s squad for the next game. The striker has been sidelined since scoring twice in the 2-1 victory over Sheffield Wednesday a month ago, but after a full week of training, the 28-year-old is now in contention to play.

However, manager Rob Edwards acknowledged a challenging two weeks for the team following the international break, with injuries to three defenders. Teden Mengi, Reuell Walters, and Mark McGuinness all picked up injuries while on international duty with England and the Republic of Ireland.

“We have to manage it,” Edwards said in his Friday press conference. “It’s a huge game, and we just have to handle the situation.” He explained that Mengi had strained his calf, Walters had fractured his foot, and McGuinness would be given as much time as possible to recover for Saturday, as he hasn’t trained yet.

The Hatters will also remain without Amari’i Bell, Mads Andersen, and Liam Walsh, who is serving the second match of his three-game suspension.

Edwards confirmed that Daiki Hashioka, who has recovered from a calf injury sustained in pre-season, is also available for selection. “He’s had a tough time since joining, especially with a challenging run of games last season,” said Edwards. “He’s often played out of position but has given his all, so having him back is a positive for us.”
