Chelsea boss now responds to transfer deal with Newcastle United star…

Newcastle United is said to be open to considering an offer of approximately £18 million for Callum Wilson amidst rumors connecting him to Chelsea.

Mauricio Pochettino has remained elusive when questioned about particular transfer targets, especially in light of recent links between Chelsea and Callum Wilson. Earlier reports suggested that Chelsea might be exploring the possibility of acquiring the services of Newcastle United’s number nine. Wilson, who is currently recovering from a calf injury, has been out of action since the Boxing Day loss to Nottingham Forest.

A series of disappointments in the current campaign has led to the 31-year-old missing significant fixtures for the Magpies due to injuries. Remarkably, Wilson has been unavailable for 34 percent of Newcastle’s Premier League matches since joining the club three-and-a-half years ago.

Chelsea has faced challenges with their striker options in recent years, managing just an average of one goal per game in the previous season, resulting in their worst Premier League campaign. Summer signing Nicolas Jackson has struggled to fill this gap, and the addition of an experienced striker like Wilson could alleviate the pressure on him.

However, when questioned about potential new signings ahead of their FA Cup clash with Aston Villa, Chelsea manager Pochettino brushed off the inquiries. He commented to reporters, “Well, I think we are hearing too many rumors, you know? Player in, player out, like in other clubs. At the moment, (I have) nothing to say.” Chelsea is also reportedly interested in Aston Villa forward Jhon Duran.
