Borrusia Dortmund seems to be leading Brighton in the race for Harvey Elliot

The 21-year-old has barely featured since Arne Slot took over from Jurgen Klopp after the 2023/24 season. Elliott has managed only 147 minutes of game time across nine appearances in all competitions, although a fractured foot stunted his progress in the first few weeks of the 2024/25 campaign.

However, the English midfield prospect’s stock in the market is high, with several well-known clubs across Europe setting their sights on him. Brighton & Hove Albion and Borussia Dortmund are among the prospective suitors that will look to sign the youngster from Liverpool this year.

Brighton & Hove Albion’s interest in Harvey Elliott is understandable. While the Seagulls have a stacked squad, the Liverpool prospect can be a multi-faceted solution for them, considering he can play as a box-to-box midfielder, an attacking midfielder, and a right winger. So, the young whizkid is a viable target for Brighton & Hove Albion.

As for Borussia Dortmund, the Bundesliga giants have a glowing history of nurturing highly-rated prospects and turning them into world-class players. So, the opportunity to join the Black and Yellows should appeal to Elliott amid his dwindling game time at Liverpool FC this season.

However, the Liverpool utility man is not certain to depart from Anfield in the winter transfer window. An exit will depend on how Arne Slot views the demographics of his squad for the second half of the 2024/25 season.
