West Ham United ready to break transfer record to sign Victor Boniface

West Ham United is prepared to make a substantial financial commitment to secure the talents of 23-year-old Bayer Leverkusen forward, Victor Boniface. As reported by The Sun, the club is actively seeking to strengthen its attacking prowess during the current transfer window, with a specific focus on acquiring the impressive Victor Boniface. The young forward has displayed remarkable performance throughout the ongoing season, prompting the Hammers to consider breaking their transfer record in order to secure his signature.

Last summer, Boniface made a move to Bayer Leverkusen from Union SG, and his impact at the German club has been remarkable. The Nigerian international has participated in 23 matches, contributing to a total of 24 goals within just six months. This swift rise has firmly established him as a key player in Xabi Alonso’s team.

Boniface’s outstanding performances have not gone unnoticed, drawing significant interest from clubs across Europe. Chelsea and Newcastle United have emerged as two interested parties in the 23-year-old. Both clubs are in search of an established striker for different reasons and are inclined towards investing in a player who can contribute to their long-term objectives. Consequently, the Leverkusen forward appears to be an ideal match for their requirements.

However, West Ham United faces stiff competition in their pursuit of Boniface, as they are determined to go all out to secure his services. The Hammers find themselves in need of a new number nine, particularly with uncertainties surrounding the long-term futures of Michail Antonio and Danny Ings. The potential arrival of the 23-year-old forward could provide a viable solution and allow them to move on from the current duo. Both Antonio and Ings carry significant wage burdens, and their departure would also assist in financial balancing.

Tim Steidten, the technical director for West Ham, is actively advocating for the inclusion of the Leverkusen forward in their squad, striving to finalize the deal before the end of the transfer window. West Ham is prepared to break their transfer record to ensure the successful acquisition of Boniface.

While Steidten works towards facilitating the deal, West Ham’s manager, David Moyes, is eager to see the 23-year-old lead their attacking line. Despite Leverkusen’s inclination to generate substantial revenue by offloading the Nigerian international, the club is currently at the forefront in the Bundesliga title race, making the decision to let him leave a challenging one.
