In a season where Ron Rivera was coaching for his job, the Washington Commanders thought former Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy would be the much-needed remedy to rejuvenate their offense in 2023.
Bieniemy assisted Kansas City in winning three Super Bowls, although he was never hired as head coach, in contrast to many other successful offensive coordinators. This is true even though they were a crucial part of the Chiefs’ rise to become a dynasty.

Before deciding to attend UCLA, Eric Bieniemy claimed to have interviewed with other teams; however, he did not name the teams or jobs he had interviews for.
