February 26, 2024, Miami (PRNewswire) — OAKBERRY, a global açaí brand, has officially opened its doors in Copenhagen. With the assistance of its newest master franchisee, MoneyGram Haas F1 Team driver and local Dane, OAKBERRY is bringing its organic, 100% natural açaí bowls and smoothies to Denmark for the first time ever. As OAKBERRY approaches its 100th site in Europe, Magnussen hopes to keep up the açaí brand’s explosive expansion by adding more stores to Denmark this year.
OAKBERRY’s new Copenhagen location, at Gammel Kongevej 173, 1850 Frederiksberg C, Denmark, and its collaboration with Kevin Magnussen are components of the brand’s broader expansion plan, which aims to triple their European footprint by 2026 and open nearly 1,000 locations worldwide by the end of 2024. Apart from growing in Scandinavia, the company is also carrying out its aggressive expansion strategies by signing new master franchisee agreements in France and the Netherlands and quickly growing its presence in London. Following the brand’s successful $67 million Series C fundraising round, which will support growth objectives in the US and propel the company toward worldwide icon status, comes the European expansion.
Georgios Frangulis, co-founder and CEO of Oakberry, stated, “We couldn’t be more thrilled to work with Kevin to continue expanding our presence in the European market.” Kevin fell in love with Oakberry’s products and brand once the company was announced as the official Aça sponsor of the MoneyGram Haas Formula One team. He told me I should start an oysterry in Copenhagen so he could have his favorite açaí bowl every day during the 2023 Miami Race. I advised him he should open the place personally, much to the amazement of everyone there, and the rest is history.
The reason this idea is a reality is that I genuinely adore Oakberry’s merchandise. I’m often on the go and am constantly searching for a tasty and nutritious substitute for fast food. Kevin Magnussen stated, “Oakberry is the answer to that, and I am so thrilled to work with the company to introduce their açaí to Scandinavia for the first time. “My go-to order is the OAK açaí bowl with peanut butter, coconut flakes, chia seeds, granola, banana, strawberry, and kiwi.”
In order to complete the collaboration, Kevin Magnussen will compete in 2024 using a brand-new helmet design that draws inspiration from Oakberry. One of the greatest helmet designs on the track features the colors, layers, and the distinctive Oakberry Macaw.
Magnussen’s enthusiasm for Oakberry and his interest in business management have always made him a good fit for taking on a more active project with the company. In the coming years, Magnussen hopes to expand OAKBERRY’s reach into this untapped market by opening many stores around Scandinavia. Magnussen’s journey to become a master OAKBERRY franchisee was an organic one, as he saw the opportunity to share a product he likes with more people in Europe and provide himself more opportunities to enjoy OAKBERRY.
Together with Magnussen, OAKBERRY is excited to announce that it will sponsor the MoneyGram Haas F1 Team for the upcoming season. As the sport gains popularity, OAKBERRY hopes to continue bringing attention to its beloved açaí among a diverse range of young people.
