LA All-Star Skips Practice Due to New Illness.
The 31-28 Los Angeles Lakers will seek to get back on track on Wednesday when they face the 37-19 Los Angeles Clippers. However, Anthony Davis, their All-Star big man, may be in risk.
The Lakers stated, and The Athletic’s Jovan Buha reported, that Davis missed Tuesday’s practice due to an upper respiratory infection.
This might indicate anything, or nothing. Davis has been outstanding all season long. He’s been available for the majority of the season and has performed like the All-Star the Lakers traded for.
In 55 games, the former 2012 No. 1 overall draft selection out of Kentucky has averaged 24.9 points, 12.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 2.4 blocks.
His contributions on both sides of the ball, particularly on defense, would be greatly missed if he misses Wednesday’s critical game. Every game from now on for the Lakers is do or death. Davis is essential for the rest of the season.
