BREAKING NEWS: Rams Just Confirm Long Term Contract Extension For Top Experienced Star

When the Los Angeles Rams started to turn things around and make a run for the postseason in the second part of the season, they received some significant contributions from some surprising sources. Demarcus Robinson, a seasoned wide receiver, contributed one of those.

Through the Rams’ first ten games, Robinson saw almost little offensive action. However, as the season progressed, he contributed greatly, finishing with 26 receptions for 371 yards and four touchdowns.

Robinson’s efforts have now been recognized, as he has signed a one-year contract to rejoin the Rams in 2024.

Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio reports that the deal has a $4 million basic salary with potential for more:

A person familiar with the matter said that the agreement consists of a $4 million basic package plus $1 million in incentives.

A signing bonus of $1.5 million is due to him by the end of April.

Both parties will benefit from the trade, as Robinson led the Rams in yards per catch and flourished in head coach Sean McVay’s offense. Robinson’s contract contains $1 million in incentives, both team- and individual-based, as Florio pointed out:

Robinson is eligible for an additional $1 million in bonuses.

He will receive $166,666.67 if he plays in 35 percent of the offensive snaps. Her share of the offensive snaps jumps to $333,333.33 if she plays 45 percent of them. The sum increases to $500,00 if he plays on half of the offensive snaps.

Robinson will receive an additional payout based on playing percentage if the Rams make it to the playoffs or if the club improves its league ranking in total net offensive yards. His pay for forty percent of the snaps is $166,666.67. For half of the plays, he receives $333,333.34. He receives $500,000 if he plays in 60% of the snaps.

Robinson must play in at least 60% of the offensive snaps if the Rams are to reach their $5 million target. The team must either make the playoffs or rank higher in the league in offensive yards.

Although Robinson played in 36% of the offensive snaps for the Rams in the previous season, it was a tale of two halves. Before playing in just 39% of the Rams’ plays in the regular season finale, which held minimal significance for the club, Robinson was involved in at least 59% of the team’s snaps in every game from Week 11 through Week 16. 86% of the offensive snaps in the Rams’ playoff matchup with the Detroit Lions were spent on the field by Robinson.

If things keep going this way and the Rams improve offensively, Robinson could be able to fulfill all of those incentives and earn a little bit more money.

Rams grant free agent running back Ronnie Rivers exclusive rights through tender.
Next season, backup running back Ronnie Rivers will also be back in the mix. Even though Rivers’ contract has ended, he is not allowed to negotiate with other clubs because the Rams tendered him as an exclusive rights free agent.

In addition to contributing five catches for 22 yards and 129 rushing yards on 32 runs last season, Rivers will likely be Kyren Williams’ primary backup going year.
