BREAKING NEWS: Buffalo Bills Are Planning On Letting Top Experienced Player Leave After 8 Months

In the upcoming NFL draft, the Buffalo Bills might be a team interested in a running back or a kick returner. After all, the Bills want to waive one of their offensive skill players this week, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. On Sunday, Schefter announced on Twitter that Buffalo will release Nyheim Hines, a running back and returner.

Hines was involved in a bizarre jet ski accident last summer that left him with an awful and horrifying leg injury. Hines suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries in the jet ski incident with another individual. But because of the injury’s severity, he was sidelined for the whole 2023 season.

Nyheim Hines’ two-year tenure with the Buffalo Bills will come to an end this offseason when he is cut. Midway through the 2022 season, Buffalo acquired Hines from the Indianapolis Colts for a 2023 fifth-round draft pick (tight end Will Mallory). Hins caught five passes for 53 yards and a touchdown, and he also ran six times for three yards. He has two touchdowns and 274 scrimmage yards at the end of the 2022 campaign.
But as a return guy, especially with Buffalo, he shone. In his nine games with the AFC East team, he returned two kickoffs for touchdowns. Due to a season-ending leg injury sustained during the 2023 summer, he was unable to participate last year. Hines is probably going to be available for this next training camp, according to Schefter.

Hines spent his first four seasons with the Colts after being selected in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Every season, he surpassed 500 scrimmage yards, including a career-high 862 in 2020.

Buffalo Bills: Depth Chart for Running Backs

Despite combining for just 12 carries last season, Nyheim Hines and Leonard Fournette will not be with the Bills in 2019. James Cook, a second-round selection in 2022, will serve as the team’s main rusher once more. Cook gained 1,122 yards and two touchdowns on 4.7 yards per run during the previous season, earning him a spot in the Pro Bowl. Along with 445 yards and four touchdowns, he also caught 44 passes. Damien Harris, Latavius Murray, and Ty Johnson are unrestricted free agents in the meantime. Murray averaged a pitiful 3.8 yards per attempt and ended second among running backs in rushing yards. Journeyman Darrynton Evans is the only other running back signed to the active roster. But last season, he didn’t get a carry.
