According to Fabrizio Romano, Real Betis and West Ham have verbally agreed on a deal for Pablo Fornals’ signing on Deadline Day.

Along with his well-known “here we go” catchphrase, the Italian journalist revealed via X [1 February] that a deal has been reached for Betis to pay a £5.2 million fixed price plus £3.4 million in add-ons.

It is believed that the Spanish team is prepared to sign the necessary paperwork before the transfer window closes at 11 p.m. to finalize the deal.

Need reinforcements

The decision by Fornals to relocate from London Stadium was inevitable. If West Ham can’t find a replacement for the Spaniard before the transfer window shuts, it will be a major setback.

Additionally, it appears like Said Benrahma may soon join Lyon, leaving David Moyes’ team without wingers save for Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta, and Mohammed Kudus.

Reuniting with the man who introduced him to the team during his 18-month stay, Manuel Pellegrini, the winger has earned the right to leave West Ham following several years of service.

Given his limited playing time this season, it makes sense that he is eager for a fresh challenge after being wooed by a former manager. With little reinforcements at the club, it might be bad news for the Hammers.

Despite their best attempts to recruit Jota and Ibrahim Osman, West Ham appears more unlikely to get a new winger during this transfer window.

In other West Ham news, a wanted attacker wants the last few hours to salvage his move to the Irons.
