QB for the Kansas City Chiefs’ brother was placed on probation for an assault charge.
(AP) — KANSAS CITY, Kan. In a case involving accusations of assaulting a woman, the younger brother of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who won a Super Bowl, was given a six-month probationary period.
According to online court documents, Jackson Mahomes, 23, entered a guilty plea to a single misdemeanor count of battery during his video conference appearance for his sentencing hearing on Thursday. Jackson Mahomes was given a sentence and is now under the custody of the Johnson County Sheriff’s office, which will decide if he is qualified for work release.
The sentence took place more than two months after Jackson Mahomes was accused of grabbing a woman by the neck and kissing her without her will inside an Overland Park, Kansas, restaurant in February 2023. The prosecution had previously dropped three felony counts for aggravated sexual violence. According to a court document, the woman’s lack of cooperation led to the dropping of those more serious allegations.
