On Monday, December 4, 2023, the fall transfer portal window will formally open. The window will start on January 2, 2024, and expire 30 days later, the day following Tennessee’s Citrus Bowl matchup with Iowa.
The transfer site appears to be picking up momentum in December 2023, having only grown in popularity and traction with each offseason. Talented and marquee players from throughout the country are logging onto the portal to look for a new place to live, a new campsite, and maybe even a little extra NIL money.
University of Tennessee players are among the thousands of FBS players anticipated to use the transfer site during the window. The Volunteers, under Josh Heupel, finished the season with an 8-4 record and are getting ready to play Iowa in the Citrus Bowl in Orlando. However, it is understandable that some players are opting to jump ahead of things by making an early statement given that the game was released so late in the transfer portal window.
Every name from the Tennessee football roster for 2023 that enters the transfer portal will be monitored by us throughout the month. Before the Vols’ bowl practices and bowl game, keep an eye out for updates on which players are officially entering the portal by checking back often.
