Just In: Kansas City Chiefs’ Star Points Finger After Causing Major Locker Room Drama Before Super Bowl

Kadarius Toney, a wide receiver with the Kansas City Chiefs, tried to take the burden off of himself for stirring up trouble in the locker room this week before the team’s Super Bowl trip. Toney had “personal” reasons for missing the AFC Championship Game.

Giants News: Kadarius Toney Feuds With Chiefs Over Injury Status

Kadarius Toney dealt with personal issues recently

The Chiefs disclosed that Toney’s daughter’s birth was the reason for the personal leave. Toney, however, claimed on Instagram Live that the injuries he had on the Chiefs’ injury report were fabricated up hours before the AFC Championship Game.

Toney was “working through some things,” according to Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, who told ESPN that the team was not fabricating the wide receiver’s injury:

Reid stated, “That part is not made up by any means; he has been on the injury report.”

Toney’s injury status was a lie, and the Chiefs risked penalty from the NFL.

Although Toney was listed as a full participant for Wednesday’s anticipated practice status, the Chiefs did not practice on Wednesday. For a private reason, the team did, however, keep him on the injured report. It was unclear whether Toney’s child’s birth or his outburst this weekend were the causes of the personal issue.

Before Toney’s name was added to the injury report following their December game against the New England Patriots, there was talk that the Chiefs could bench him.

The Kansas City Chiefs supported Toney

Even after Toney’s outburst last weekend, tight end Travis Kelce told the Chiefs Wire that the team stood behind him:

“I want him to know that this building is always filled with love, and I understand that guys experience hardships in both their personal and professional lives,” Kelce remarked. “I just wanted to make sure he knew that we were all still behind him and ready to go get this Super Bowl. He just had a baby girl, a beautiful baby girl, so shout out to Kadarius for that one. But I think you know what’s real is what happens in this building and how we can channel that.”

Toney pointed the finger for the viral video

Toney attempted to pin the drama from his remarks on an unidentified source, according to Starcade Media. Toney claimed on social media that his comments’ audio had been changed:

“I don’t like how that video made it appear like I was criticizing the people I love when the clips were edited to look like I would share the entire clips where I addressed the people I was speaking about, but I’m over it. simply detest the portrayal it gave…

Smh, they’ll do everything to gain power.

Rather than claiming the tape was manipulated, Toney would have been better off staying silent about the matter. Of course, if Toney had performed better this season, it’s possible—as demonstrated by the video from last week—that his name would not have appeared on the injury report.

If Toney hadn’t made so many errors this season in catching the ball and staying onside, nobody in Kansas City would have taken notice of his remarks.

For the past three seasons, Ezoic Taylor’s play on the field has been his issue.
