Newcastle united now in to appoint another world class manager

Newcastle United is reportedly not considering the hiring of former AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho as the successor to Eddie Howe. Despite rumors linking Mourinho with a return to the Premier League, particularly with Newcastle United, it is deemed unlikely that he will be joining the club, as per a report by Football Insider.

Jose Mourinho: One of the Greatest of All Time

Indeed, Jose Mourinho is widely regarded as one of the greatest football managers globally, having achieved success at nearly every club he has been associated with. Recently, he parted ways with AS Roma, with the club citing dissatisfaction with the team’s performances as the reason for his departure. Mourinho had taken charge of Roma in the summer of 2021, overseeing a total of 138 matches and maintaining an average of 1.70 points per game. As a result of his availability, numerous teams worldwide have expressed interest in signing him.

Jose Mourinho’s managerial tenure at AS Roma included a significant achievement, as he led the team to win the UEFA Europa Conference League title in 2022. This accomplishment made him the first manager to secure victories in all three major European competitions. Despite receiving offers from various clubs and national teams in the summer, Mourinho opted to stay with Roma for the second season. However, six months later, he was sacked by the club, even though Roma was just three points away from a Champions League spot.

Mourinho’s future has now become a major point of discussion, and he has been linked with a managerial role at Newcastle United, which is owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF). Eddie Howe, the current manager of Newcastle United, has experienced success with the club, but recent performances have not been up to par.

Newcastle United Linked with Jose Mourinho

The pressure on Eddie Howe at Newcastle United is intensified due to high expectations from the club’s owners, and there are reports suggesting that the Public Investment Fund (PIF) is considering the appointment of a new world-class manager. Although Jose Mourinho has been linked with the managerial role at Newcastle, it is deemed unlikely to happen.

Instead, the PIF is reportedly keen on bringing Mourinho to one of their Saudi Pro League clubs. The PIF holds great admiration for the Portuguese tactician, and there is interest in having him contribute to the ongoing football revolution in the Middle East. While Al Shabab has been mentioned as a potential destination for Mourinho, it remains to be seen which club he will manage in the near future.
