Golden Knights Linked To Trading For Disgruntled Maple Leafs Forward
The Vegas Brilliant Knights are referenced as a potential arrival spot for disappointed Toronto Maple Leafs forward Scratch Robertson.
Robertson is a forthcoming limited free specialist and has requested an exchange from Toronto as he has become baffled with his absence of playing time as the years progressed. The 22-year-old supposedly has no designs to sign one more agreement with the Maple Leafs and Adam Proteau of The Hockey News thinks the Brilliant Knights are a sensible landing spot for him.
Robertson was drafted 53rd by and large in the 2019 NHL draft yet has just skated in 87 normal season games over pieces of four seasons. In those 87 games, he’s recorded 17 objectives and 17 helps for 34 places.
Maple Leafs GM Has No Plans Of Exchanging Robertson
Despite the fact that Robertson has requested an exchange, Maple Leafs senior supervisor Brad Treliving said he would rather not move the 22-year-old.
Treliving accepts Robertson is a significant player on their program and is somebody he needs to re-sign for the 2024-25 NHL season.
“Landing Robertson would give Vegas a lift in their center six gathering of advances. The Leafs would be happy with one of the Brilliant Knights’ second-rounders (they have every one of the three second-rounders in the following three drafts), and Robertson would be a lot nearer to home than he is in Toronto,” Proteau composed.
“The Leafs could make due with a respectable possibility rather than a draft pick, yet regardless, Vegas would add a potential 20-25-objective scorer without taking anything off the NHL program, and Toronto would discard a miserable camper and open up a program spot for a young person like Easton Cowan or Fraser Minten. It’s a shared benefit for the two groups, and that is the sort of arrangement that frequently gets made in hockey’s best association,” Proteau added.
An exchange to Vegas checks out as the Brilliant Knights saw Chandler Stephenson, Jonathan Marchessault, and Anthony Mantha all leave in free organization. Thus, Vegas needs to add another talented forward to their main six which Robertson can be.
