NCAA Transfer News: Texas’ Quarterback Commits to LSU Tigers Deal

LSU aiming to flip a recent Michigan football commitment

Phillip Wright just committed to Michigan football but it doesn’t sound like LSU is going to give up on the wideout so easily.

Rankings have significance. However, they don’t give the entire picture. Phillip Wright, a 2025 class pledge for Michigan football, is one of my favorite targets even though he is now rated last among the Wolverines’ commits.

Wright, though, has been ascending. Prior to committing to Michigan football, his ranking was below the top 500. According to the 247 Sports composite rankings, he is now rated No. 428 overall.

From Louisiana, it is not difficult to understand Wright’s ascent. In the 100-meter dash, he ran in 10.46. Similar to Jasper Parker, he was underappreciated in Louisiana before LSU elevated him to a priority, which worries Michigan football.

LSU attempting to deceive a football commitment from Michigan
In the process of acquiring Derek Meadows, a top-100 wide receiver out of Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas, the Tigers defeated the Wolverines. Shea Dixon of the LSU On3 website, The Bengal Tiger, claims that LSU is still pursuing Wright and may be moving closer to a flip. Nevertheless, the Tigers have lost out on a few other talents.

The story claims that LSU is attempting to bring Wright to campus for its end-of-July recruiting event. A flip is a serious worry if that occurs. Similar to Parker, LSU’s lack of interest had a role in Michigan’s ability to get Wright’s pledge, at least in part.
