The Baltimore Orioles are considering moves for starting and relief pitchers as the MLB trade deadline draws near. Would they trade a great talent for Jackson Holliday?

Rumors have surfaced about him possibly being acquired by the Detroit Tigers, led by their star player Tarik Skubal. Holliday was questioned by David Hall of The Virginian-Pilot if he knew about the rumors.

Holliday said, “Obviously, I don’t live in a cave,” to Hall. “I use Twitter and Instagram. Yes, they are visible to me. However, all I’m attempting to do is show up here and concentrate on improving every day. In the end, everything that occurs happens. However, I’m attempting to concentrate on my baseball career here with the Orioles.

When asked if the $8.19 million signing bonus that Baltimore paid him made him feel untouchable, Holliday only said that he was keeping his attention on the Orioles.

Although it is unlikely, I would want to think so. As I previously stated, I’m concentrating on getting better every day while playing for the Orioles in an effort to help both this club and the big league team win, hopefully very soon,” Holliday said. That is my objective. That is the only thing I am concentrating on at the moment.

Earlier this season, Holliday made his MLB debut, playing in 10 games with Baltimore. After going 2-of-34 at the plate, he joined the Norfolk Tides, Triple-A affiliate, to finish out the season.

Coby Mayo Acknowledges Monitoring Trade Rumors
Trade speculations have also been circulating around Coby Mayo, the third-ranked prospect for the Orioles. He acknowledged to Hall that he follows it, but he makes an effort to concentrate on the current games.
