Kate Martin, a rookie for the Las Vegas Aces, got an update on her injuries from her father, Matt Martin. This week, KCCI in Des Moines, Iowa, covered the story.
During Tuesday’s Aces game against the Chicago Sky, Kate sustained a leg injury. The youngster looked to have hurt his lower leg while attempting to push the ball up the floor. She lay on the ground for a while before managing to go toward the changing area.
It’s still unknown if Kate’s injuries will lead her to miss any more time. With the Aces’ next game scheduled for Saturday, August 17, against the New York Liberty, she will have a month to recuperate.
After being selected in the second round of the 2024 WNBA Draft, Kate joined the Aces as a roster member. She blended in nicely with her colleagues and soon became a fan favorite. All of her teammates gathered around her to offer support when she sustained the injury on Tuesday.
Kate is averaging 3.6 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game in her first campaign. Thus far this season, she has made appearances in 23 out of 24 games for Las Vegas.
