Shocking: Reasons Why Nobody wants to be the head coach of the New Orleans Saint Revealed.

The adage “you should never throw stones from a glass house” rings true in many spheres of life. However, Falcons supporters can’t help but chuckle at the Saints; no one wants to be the head coach in New Orleans.

After sacking Dennis Allen, who was never qualified for the job in the first place, Darren Rizzi took over and did not accomplish much. When it was announced that Mickey Loomis would remain as general manager and supervise the search for a new head coach, Saints fans sighed, while Falcons fans applauded.

It rapidly became evident that this wasn’t a desired job. Aaron Glenn, the prospect many considered to be the second-best available behind Ben Johnson, coached and played in New York.

Orleans and was believed to be the Saints’ top target.

Mike McCarthy withdraws from Saints' coaching search and won't coach in 2025, AP source says

In actuality, the Saints never had a chance. Glenn chose the Jets, one of the most dysfunctional teams in football. That is a ringing endorsement of what has happened to the New Orleans Saints; someone selected the JETS over you?! That is embarrassing.

However, the process has only gotten worse for the Falcons’ main competitors. Every significant applicant has taken another job or elected to remain in their existing position.

Kliff Kingsbury will stay in Washington as the Commanders’ offensive coordinator. The Buffalo Bills’ offensive coordinator, Joe Brady, has made the same decision. Most recently, former Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy chose to remain unemployed rather than meet with the Saints again.

According to Josina Anderson, a hypothetical cooperation between McCarthy and New Orleans raised concerns about power dynamics and communication over football decisions, contract duration, and more. Many different viewpoints have been shared on what owner Gayle Benson should do with her building’s operations in the future.

The Saints are in terrible shape with the salary cap and cannot obtain any substantial relief from terminating any of their major contracts. Meanwhile, Mickey Loomis has put together a string of bad draft classes. It’s an old roster with minimal financial flexibility, overseen by a GM who wields entire control. Who the hell would want that job?

There are only 32 of them, so someone will ultimately take it, but it will not be an ideal candidate. Right now, Kellen Moore appears to be their primary target, with Mike Kafka and Anthony Weaver filling out the known candidates.
