The LSU football team is actively recruiting for the 2026 cycle, as seen by the awarding of two significant scholarships last week.

The most recent occurred after Dia Bell, the No. 2 quarterback in America, received an offer from the purple and gold.

As his recruitment picks up steam, Joe Sloan and Co. called the four-star quarterback prospect for 2026 Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) American Heritage on Saturday.

Bell visited LSU in the fall after being granted access to the campus for a game day experience as the much sought-after signal-caller.

Dia, who is the son of former NBA star Raja Bell, has visited schools at Ohio State, Penn State, Miami, Florida, and North Carolina.

Last week, the Tigers and Brian Kelly made an offer for 2026 Greensboro, North Carolina, Grimsley signal-caller Faizon Brandon, the third-ranked quarterback in the country.

Four-star prospect Brandon is having a fantastic recruiting season in the 2026 class.

As he gets ready for his junior season, the highly sought-after native of North Carolina has amassed 16 scholarships.

The 6-foot-4, 185-pound player from Greensboro, North Carolina, attends Grimsley High School, where as a sophomore, he guided the Whirlies to a 13-1 record.

It seems like Joe Sloan and company are making all the right moves in the quarterback market. After Jayden Daniels, the Heisman winner, left the team, Garrett Nussmeier is expected to be the next in line to take over at quarterback for the Tigers.

The Bayou Bengals will then have an absurd amount of money to work with, leading the way in the 2025 class with 5-star Bryce Underwood.

On January 6, Underwood—the top player in America—made his allegiance to the purple in gold clear.

His pledge last month from LSU caused a stir in the college football recruiting market.

The No. 1 overall player in the 2025 class is a Tiger and a program-changing potential.

The Bayou Bengals are currently applying pressure to retain Underwood’s services. Last week, LSU’s Brian Kelly and Joe Sloan traveled to Michigan to meet with Underwood.

One of the greatest recruiting successes of the modern period is Underwood’s commitment, and this team will make sure to keep fighting for him even after he makes his vow.

With Underwood joining Harlem Berry (the top-ranked RB in America) and Dakorien Moore (the top-ranked WR in America) in the class, LSU has attained elite status in the 2025 cycle.

This cycle will continue to have an impact for many years to come. For the long term, the three five-star, No. 1 prospects at their position aim to revitalize the program.

His commitment to Underwood is as strong as it gets. The 210-pound, 6-foot-3 prospect is regarded as one of the best prospects in history when he gets to Baton Rouge.
After numerous trips to Baton Rouge in 2023, LSU laid the groundwork for the top recruit in the country to pledge after putting forth a lot of effort in his recruiting.

Now, before the recruiting Dead Period began, the Tigers made sure to have one final meeting with him. The period of no communication will end in March.

Underwood hasn’t revealed much about his recruitment, but his actions have told a lot. He has taken his family on four unauthorized trips to the South.

Notably, two of the travels coincided with holidays celebrated by his family, namely the birthday and anniversary of his mother and father.

Joe Sloan, the quarterbacks coach, has demonstrated due diligence in this situation with his activities. He’s pulled out the red carpet multiple times, and each time it works like magic.

Now that the Bayou Bengals have made a big push, LSU has prevailed for his services and is keeping the pressure on with a trip to Michigan.

Even though he won’t sign a contract until December, the Underwood Sweepstakes will still be a battle, but the Tigers have the verbal commitment of one of the greatest prospects of all time.
