As agreed upon by Man United, Dan Ashworth informs Newcastle United, “I’m going.”
Football Insider has been informed by sources that Dan Ashworth, the sports director of Newcastle United, has agreed to terms to join Manchester United.
Football Insider has been informed by a reliable source that Ashworth, 52, informed the Magpies, “I’m going,” in response to an approach from the Old Trafford team.
Ashworth only started working at St. James’ Park in 2022, but he has already decided to join Manchester United.
It is anticipated that the transfer coordinator will now have to take a long gardening leave of absence before to reporting to the Red Devils.
Man United’s acquisition of Ashworth follows the Premier League and Football Association’s approval of Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s offer to purchase a minority share in the team.

Football Insider reported in November 2023 that after the additional investment is finished, INEOS intends to fire football director John Murtough.
Ashworth has previously worked for Brighton and England – helping make the former into a force in the Premier League in recent years.
He has also brought the likes of Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon to St James’ Park after his Newcastle appointment.
