Clemson linebacker Jeremiah Trotter, Jr. is a potential draft pick of the Browns.
The Cleveland Browns might select the 6-foot linebacker from Clemson in the 2024 Draft.
Jeremiah Trotter, Jr., a 6’0, 230-pound linebacker who helped the Clemson Tigers to three consecutive bowl berths when he was a member of the program, is the next pick in our Cleveland Browns draft series. Trotter, a four-star recruit from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, committed to Clemson in 2019. 247Sports listed him as the nation’s sixth-best linebacker overall and as the second-best prospect in Pennsylvania.
As a true freshman at Clemson, Trotter recorded 15 total tackles and one sack in 13 games. After a 9-3 regular season, the Clemson Tigers were chosen to play the Iowa State Cyclones in the Cheez-It Bowl. Trotter participated in four tackles overall in Clemson’s 20–13 triumph over Iowa State.
Trotter played in 14 games in 2022 and finished with 89 total tackles, 6.5 sacks, one forced fumble, seven passes defended, two interceptions, and one defensive touchdown. Following their 39-10 victory over the North Carolina Tar Heels in the ACC Championship, the Tigers concluded the 2022 regular season with an 11-2 record.
The Orange Bowl matchup between Clemson and the Tennessee Volunteers was chosen. Trotter finished the Tigers’ 31-14 loss to the volunteers with nine total tackles. Trotter received three honors: second-team All-America (Pro Football Focus), third-team All-America (College Football Network), and second-team All-ACC (Phil Steele).
With 88 total tackles, 5.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, seven passes defended, two interceptions, and a defensive score in 12 games played in 2023, Trotter was a productive player. After an 8-4 regular season, the Tigers were chosen to play the Kentucky Wildcats in the Gator Bowl in 2023. When Trotter declared in late November that he would enter the 2024 NFL Draft, he chose to forgo the Gator Bowl and his senior year.
First-team All-America (ESPN, Sports Illustrated, Action Network), second-team All-America (AFCA, AP, Phil Steele, Sporting News, USA Today, The Athletic, Fox Sports, PFF), and first-team All-ACC (AP, Pro Football Focus, Phil Steele, USA Today, College Football Network) honors were his due in 2023 as a result of his performance.
