The Miami Dolphins have few options to make improvements this offseason because of their restricted draft capital and salary cap space. General manager Chris Grier has limited leeway when it comes to enhancing the roster this offseason because the Dolphins are $50 million above the salary threshold and lack third and fourth round picks.
Troy Fautanu, an offensive lineman from Washington, was selected by Miami with the 21st overall choice in the first round of the rookie draft in April, according to predictions made by ESPN NFL draft analyst Field Yates.
Although it’s unclear if Terron Armstead will be available in Miami in 2024 and beyond, Yates stated that Fautanu makes sense for the Dolphins to pursue. “During his time at Washington, he was a dominant left tackle, but he can also kick inside.”
Yates also mentioned that Miami will require an offensive lineman more now that Robert Hunt is expected to become a free agent in one month. Isaiah Wynn, the left guard, and starting center Connor Williams will also be free agents.
The addition of a four-year starter with trench-rush potential would be a home run pick in the first round, as the Dolphins desperately need stability on the offensive line.
